Important Email Information

Click on the questions below for answers:

First Step has moved the mich.com, bignet.net, bignetnorth.net and benzie.com email accounts to our mail servers. The biggest change will be a new WebMail Interface and a new WebMail Address.

If you use Outlook, Outlook Express or a similar program to check your mail, your existing mail settings will still allow you to get your mail. One change that needs to be made is in your account settings. You need to turn on SMTP Authentication in order to send email. Please call the HelpDesk if you need help changing this setting.


If you still have any mail that has not been migrated, please contact us as soon as possible. The old mailboxes on the MichTel mail servers will be removed on 1/31/2007.



  • Check your old MichTel mailbox here

    • Any saved email will be here.
    • Let us know if you still have any mail you need moved from the old box to your new mailbox.
    • Members with @michtel.com email address will continue to use this link to check email. These mailboxes will not be moved to First Step

    • any new email will be here for mich.com, bignet.net, bignetnorth.net and benzie.com
